A manager at an Old Country Buffet restaurant in Iowa went to a casino with $20,000 of the restaurant's money. His plan was to gamble with it, keep his winnings, and then deposit the restaurant's $20,000. The only problem was he lost everything. It might be an indication that he has a problem (or is just unlucky). Police are not releasing any names but are said to be looking for a squirrel in a treehouse somewhere near Unger St. (Don't ask)...
The general manager of the Old Country Buffet faces felony theft charges for gambling away nearly $20,000 he stole from the restaurant.
Police said the manager took money that was meant to be deposited and kept it for himself for nine consecutive days. His plan: to use it to gamble at Jumer’s Casino in Rock Island, Ill., deposit the restaurant’s money when he was finished and pocket the earnings. The problem: He lost it all, police said.
He has been charged with first-degree theft, a class C felony.
