What's the big deal? I think it's great that families are finally doing more things together...

Driver was smoking pot with kids in car, police say

JAMESTOWN—A man allegedly smoking marijuana while driving with two children in his car was apprehended late Sunday on a felony charge by Jamestown police, authorities reported.

Richard C. Alicea Sr., no age or address listed, was stopped by police at about 8 p.m. on North Main Street at Fluvanna Avenue and found to be driving under the influence of drugs, police said.


Alicea was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. The occupants of the vehicle were age 10 and 14, police said.
