Lenihan to step down in September

Erie County Democratic chairman Len Lenihan announced plans to step down from his post in September. Citing personal reasons as the reason for his departure, Lenihan said he hopes to spend more time with his male figure skating coach. Meanwhile, various frontrunners representing competing party factions have emerged, including Frank "Mad" Max, John Crangle, Peter Reese, Jack O'Donnell, Marc Panepinto, and former Buffalo mayor Anthony Masiello.

However, our sources in the Ellicott Square Building indicate Salvatore Weinstein-Fitzgibbons (pictured below), from East Amherst is garnering serious interest as a compromise candidate.

When reached by phone this week, Fitzgibbons said his short term goals include "retaining Kathy Hochul's Congressional seat and teaching State Senator Tim Kennedy how to independently tie his own shoes".
