Response to disgruntled donor

I had to laugh when I heard about some guy from McClellen Circle contacting the Rooster because he didn't like me exposing South Buffalo supporters of Byron Brown. It's always funny when these sycophants contact the Rooster or Mickey Kearns, as if I work for them. I'm not on Mickey's payroll, which means I don't answer to him. Last time I checked, this was a democracy. When I said you were an embarrassment to the neighborhood, I really wasn't thinking about you specifically. I meant the people by the Circles who put up the same predictable signs every year for the endorsed candidates, to the detriment of the rest of the city. I don't have anything against you personally, as I view you as irrelevant. I'm more embarrassed for you than anything. Instead of putting four large political signs on your front lawn, why don't you just put a red light in your front window?

Funnier than that was your comment that you had to support mayor Urkel so your wife could get a better job. Outrageous. Nobody has to do anything they don't want to do, bro. Did you ever hear of going to school and getting an education to acquire a better job? Why not comment underneath the article instead of calling people that have nothing to do with it?

Here's what you would do if you did comment. You would call me names or say something personal about me that is untrue. You would have to do this because, A-you don't know me and B- based on the facts, you have no argument at all. You have so little confidence in yourself that you support corrupt candidates with money and signs. Why not be a man and stand up for yourself instead of kissing up to entrenched incumbents?

You have the right to donate to Byron Brown and put signs on your lawn for whomever you are
told to support. And I have the right to make fun of you for it. For every one person who doesn't like my blog, I'm being approached by 20 who do.

I started the blog after I went out and got my masters degree after 21 years of coaching, only to sit back and watch the sons and daughters of neighborhood hacks get jobs in my field in Buffalo. Many had even moved out of the city to the suburbs years ago. That's fine. That's the system we have and I actually enjoy the challenge. In fact, I might be poor, but I'm having the time of my life. My favorite play in any sport is the broken play, where the play book goes out the window and you're on your own to improvise. If the powers that be are sick of being scrutinized, they're free to contact me. I'm easy to get a hold of. I'm truly sorry that this blog has a cult-like following with some.

I got 33% of the vote in a three person primary 10 years ago (with no endorsements). I've met thousands of people since then. At the time, I didn't even know how to send out email. But now, I have no problem communicating with the masses online. Some people even say I'm a decent writer. The people who don't like my blog would never have supported me in the first place (because they only support those they are told to back). I'm looking at the School Board race this Spring (there are some well financed groups that want Pinocchio out of there) and the Assembly race next Fall. I'm sure I can take votes away from someone (and I really don't care who). It's called believing in yourself. You should try it sometime.
