Makeover daughter charged in slashing

They can say she doesn't come from a good home but they can't say she doesn't come from a nice "house." The daughter from the Extreme Makeover reality TV show might have her sites set on a bigger house soon. I wonder how this is going to affect the scholarship offers from Canisius?...

A daughter from the Massachusetts Avenue family that was featured nationally last year on ABC-TV’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” faces a felony assault charge after another girl was slashed with a box cutter at about 3 p. m. Monday, Buffalo Police reported.

Ferry-Fillmore District officers arrested Deborah A. Powell, 16, Tuesday.

Powell, a student at East High School, jumped out of a vehicle at Northampton Street and Fillmore Avenue and slashed 15-year-old Adrianna Jackson’s arms with a box cutter, according to arrest reports.

The Powell children were promised full-tuition scholarships to Canisius College, and the family was given a new Ford Fusion, furniture and a year’s supply of food as part of the community-wide effort.

The article fails to mention whether the family was given any free box cutters during the show...
