Fahey's 40 hour work week questioned

There is a big difference between the haves and the have-nots when it comes to running for office in South Buffalo. When I ran for Council in 2001, I was told by various members of the South Buffalo political class, that I would have to give up my $9/hour job as a recreation aide at the Old 1st Ward Community Center. Not doing so would be a violation of the Hatch Act, they said. So reluctantly, I did.

Now, these same people have no problem with their candidate, "11,000 Doors" Fahey leaving work to begin campaigning at 1PM. One insider says it's not illegal, "just" unethical. So, in other words, they have no problem being unethical as long as no laws are being broken. This leads me to the obvious question: How important of a job is an aide to Brian Higgins, when you can work for three hours and then leave to go out and campaign? It's only $80,000/yr of our tax dollars (plus full benefits). So, if you're reading this, your tax dollars are paying for the entitled Fahey to campaign for another job. It's bad enough when we let the elected officials do it. Now, we're letting the glorified secretaries/prostitutes do it also? Unbelievable.

If I was Mickey Kearns, I would talk to one of my deep pocketed friends and have a private detective follow the privileged Fahey around 24 hours a day and report to the taxpayers exactly how many hours he is devoting to his 40 hour/week job. (Carl, if you're reading this, pay me $100/day and I will follow Fahey to make sure he's giving the taxpayers their money's worth from 9 to 5.) (Fahey supporters: give me the same and I will follow Kearns to see how much time he is devoting to city hall!)

I will visit every house Fahey does and ask the residents if they think it's o.k. that we're paying him $80,000/yr to campaign on our dime! Shouldn't he be busy coming up with solutions to lower gas prices or bringing jobs to our area?) Maybe he's leaving that up to Bozo the Clown Kennedy.???

If I was Fahey, I would insist on putting in my 40 hours at the office (for ethical reasons alone!) But I guess ethics are the last thing one thinks about when nobody knows who they are and they're the subject of an attempted anointing.

These lowlife twits live on another planet. Fahey's never put in one hour of community service anywhere, yet his flier says he's ready to devote himself to public service. He walked right out of college into an $80,000/yr job as one of Higgins' coat holders. Now, we're expected to anoint him as a community leader? I don't think so.

I guess the downside to prostituting himself to Brian Higgins for the last 10 years, is the fact that nobody's ever heard of Fahey, besides his relatives and the political cockroaches he calls his friends. He better start leaving work at noon because, according to our unscientific poll, he seems to be in a bit of trouble. (29%?) ...

Tumble outta bed
And stumble to the kitchen
Pour myself a cup of ambition
Yawnin' and stretchin' and try to come to life

Jump in the shower
And the blood starts pumpin'
Out on the streets
The traffic starts jumpin'
With folks like me on the job from 9 to 5

Workin' 9 to 5
What a way to make a livin' ...

  1. Unbelievable! You have got to be kidding me... $80,000 a year we're paying this dull-witted lummox? Beneath all of that brainless blubber I sense yet another example of the pretentious, pompus, high panted-crazy haired one in Washington flaunting his arrogance. Imagine that. Once again the South Buffalo Zen God of the ignorant masses lords over his army of back biting political hacks by annointing his personal stooge to higher office. Don't the people who aren't partisians of the Jiggins political machine ever have a say in South Buffalo politricks? And they say Putin flauts democracy!

  2. You're right about hiring a PI to follow fatboy around. Sounds like a case for Jim Rockford to me.

  3. One of your best posts yet, Blakey! Keep giving these political hacks hell. These "entitled" people from the families of South Buffalo's political class need a good dose of reality. These people really do live on a different planet from the rest of us ordinary folks here in the old neighborhood. Not only that, but all their self-centered, back-stabbing political maneuvering gives our neighborhood a bad reputation and makes all of us people from South Buffalo look bad. I can't tell you how many guys I work with not from the neighborhood who automatically assume all people from South Buffalo are "connected" politically. Not true, we are not all political opportunists living off the public tit here in South Buffalo. However, the kind of political corruption you expose in this blog certainly makes me understand how outsiders could buy into the stereotypes about the neighborhood.

  4. I like both Mickey and Chris so don't really care who wins but what you posted here is slimey and ignorant at best. You owe it to yourself and anybody who reads your blog to at least research what you write. What you posted here says more about you than it does about Chris. You seem like a smart guy, think about it.

  5. I've had three different people tell me they've seen him campaigning during the week between 1 and 2PM. If he's doing that, how could he possibly be earning his full time salary of $80,000? That's real money paid for by you and I. What is it I wrote that isn't true? I'm not a supporter of Mickey, either. If he's out campaigning during work hours, it should be exposed also.

  6. Are your sources reliable? You don't support Mickey yet you post rumors about Fahey on a daily basis. Luckily, for Fahey, you only influence a few losers. Now reply with your web site visitor statistics, yawn.

I haven't been to one of Mickey's fundraisers and I won't be putting up a sign for him or Fahey. If you're telling me Fahey knocked on 11,000 doors and worked another 40 hours a week, we need to get this guy a cape. He's Superman!

Mickey's been talking about this youth center for 6 years with no progress to speak of. Everyone knows Fahey is merely a puppet for Higgins. I don't know how many people are influenced by my blog. I think it's pretty entertaining, but that's about it. Ironically, when I'm out in the community, I think I get along with everyone. I'm just going to continue to write and let people draw their own conclusions.

  8. Chris Fahey is one of the most decent human beings I've ever met. He left his job when he started campaigning. You should check the rest of what you wrote a lot of it is erroneous. Sounds like you have an old ax to grind with someone else.

Please elaborate. What's not true? He's a "resume builder". People can't afford to heat their homes or put gas in their cars. The last thing we need is a prostitute to the political machine. We need a leader. He's had 35 years to do something for the community. What's he done besides collect and $80,000/yr salary for holding Brian Higgins' coat?

  10. I can't believe that we taxpayers actually shell out $80,000 a year for that stooge to hold Jiggins' coat. This is an absolute outrage! People are hurting, and I mean really hurting in this neighborhood. We've had one ratbag politician after another promise us the world here in South Buffalo, but there hasn't been a decent paying job brought to this neighborhood since Republic Steel, Trico, Mobil Oil, etc., all closed their gates. And all we got in return for allowing manufacturing to leave our shores was boarded-up businesses, abandoned houses and lots of hot air from our so called "leaders." Please, no more lies about "Brownfield Redevelopments."

Meanwhile, the same self-centered opportunists keep getting elected to office around here, their war chests grow richer and richer, all while their army of political hack flunkies act as their Pretorian Guard. And this job for life comes at the mere price of shelling out to the legion of political hacks a few City/County/State jobs and the obligatory summer gig at the pools for their teenage kids. We allow these crooked politicians to get away with complete negelct of our communities, and at the same time everyone kow-tows at the local gin-mills to these theives. Yes, times are good for the South Buffalo political class and their legion of flunkies who derive mainly from some of the most unenlightened members of South Buffalo's self-annointed "first families." Yeah, times are good for these elites despite the fact that 99% of the rest of the people in the neighborhood are really suffering.

In my lifetime I've seen our South Buffalo neighborhood descend from what was once a respectable working-class area to what it is today, an inner-city urban ghetto comprised of the underclass and vestages of the white working-poor.

Yet, St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner and the Shamrock Run is on tap too: you just watch how many people will go out of their way to shake hands and slap the backs of these professional phonies. The Abbott Road/Potter Road/McKinley Parkway crowd will turn a blind ignorant eye to all the blight and poverty which now overwhelms the South Buffalo area and pretend that it's still 1952, as they elbow each other while trying to get their faces forward in the posed photographs with the local rat-bag politicians.

Some people need to wake up and see things for what they are and not what they were.
