Hamburg-Nothing good happens after midnight




Hamburg fight draws more than a dozen local police departments

A fight involving more than 100 people outside the Michael's Banquet Hall in the Town of Hamburg escalated into a further disturbance that brought officers from more than one dozen area police departments to the Southwestern Boulevard facility early this morning.

Town police were called at about 2:45 a.m. to control the fight on a bus when about 1,000 people left the banquet hall and created a further disturbance, Hamburg Town police reported.

Daywon Jackson, 21, of Brooklyn was charged with assault, trespass, obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct.

The Town of Hamburg Police were assisted by officers from the Village of Hamburg, West Seneca, Orchard Park, Erie County Sheriff's Department, Town of Tonawanda, Eden, state police, Evans, Blasdell, Lackawanna, East Aurora, Gowanda, Cheektowaga and the Niagara Transportation Authority.

The McKinley Mall security force was also called to the scene but they got lost somewhere in the food court.
