The annual "South Buffalo Get Together" will be this Saturday, April 9th at the Iron workers Hall in of all places,West Seneca. I invite my readers to attend and try to find the five people there who actually still live in South Buffalo...

This year’s contest in coordination with the release of the song, “South Buffalo” will seek to determine which street is South Buffalo was the best street to grow up on. Nominations in the form of an essay not to exceed 100 words will be accepted until Friday April 6th and can be sent via e-mail to the South Buffalo Fresh Air Club at sbfreshair@verizon.net or mailed to SB Fresh Air Club, 86 Woodview Drive Buffalo NY 14127.

So, where is Woodview Drive? There certainly isn't a Woodview Drive in South Buffalo. And the event itself? Held in West Seneca. Of course it is. Please spare me the emails about how this event will benefit the South Buffalo Community Table. Everyone knows what it's about. It's a chance for the Brian Higgins worshipers to get together in their plaid skirts and khaki pants and talk about how their kids just got accepted into Nichols. They'll network with other like minded bores and talk about the good old days. If these posers love South Buffalo so much, why don't they move back there? I think what happens is this type moves away from the old neighborhood and finds out their new neighbors aren't that impressed with them. They long for the love and attention of their simple minded little cliques. Sorry! Blogger's not impressed. Enjoy your night!

Political update

It's just one of those opinionated days...

-State Senator Tim "Hortons" Kennedy is doing such a terrific job "changing Albany." The people that voted for this dufus should continue to expect more of the same. He'll do whatever Brian Higgins tells him to while wiping the glaze from his donuts off of his shirt. Tim, since many people are hearing about how you're spending your days in Albany, you might want to mix a public speaking course into your busy schedule.


-Speaking of neighborhood political hacks: One of the Finnegans apparently doesn't like the fact that I think his brother should actually have to do something to get $20,000 in government money from Congressman Higgins. He said something to Councilman Kearns about my blog (as if Kearns has anything to do with my blog). Why would Finnagan complain to him? I have nothing to do with Mickey Kearns. I don't work for him or answer to him. I'm not even a member in good standing with the Irish Mafia.

I just think, if you're already on two public sector payrolls, you should probably have to do actual work to get on a third. He must be ashamed with the fact that I'm making others aware of this atrocity. When I know someone is p'd off at my work, that's a sure way for them to etch a permanent spot on my wall of shame. (See the 100 most beautiful people at the side of this page). The uneducated, entitled and their never ending greed...


-Speaking of Congressman "High Pants"....

I ran into Mrs. High Pants at one of the schools I worked at last week and she walked right by me (twice) without even acknowledging my brilliance. That's a sure way to make it into the infamy that is my blog. I still think she's a nice person, but everyone needs to show respect and pay homage to the neighborhood blogger.

-Call Guinness. I think Buffalo School Board member Lou "Pinocchio"Petrucci might have gone an entire week without telling an outright whopper or making a gross exaggeration. Is there something wrong with the earth's gravitational pull?

-I noticed that the Hillary Foundation awarded the ethically challenged Ray McGurn and the McKinley Circle Lady as their citizens of the year. They must be reaching down to the bottom of the barrel these days. One's a known liar and the other belongs in a freaking psych ward.


-Speaking of the McKinley Circle Lady. True story: One of my readers reports that she brought a tea kettle at a yard sale from her years ago. When she got home, after filling it with water to make the tea, she realized it had a leak at the bottom of it. The purchaser said to me, "What kind of person sells a tea kettle with a leak in it?" The answer is pretty clear.

Missing person

Buffalo police are seeking the public's help in finding a missing person from South Buffalo. Dismonda Street is between South Park Avenue and McKinley Parkway...

Buffalo police continue to search for a missing 21 year old South Buffalo woman. Tiffany Marie Ernle of Dismonda Street was last seen on April 1st. She was last seen wearing a blue jean dress, pink and white Nike sneakers and a red and black purse. Her family says she has medical issues and may be in need of her medication. Anyone with information is asked to South District police at 851-4415.

Panic at funeral

I drove right by this funeral today on my way to school #32 on Clinton St. It seemed like a peaceful gathering. I had no idea the funeral was for a 17 year old murder victim. In this clip, there are reports of shots fired about a block away. There were several fights both inside and outside of the church. The reverend had to restore order a few times and then ended the service prematurely amid more reports of shots fired...

Threatening email released

The threatening email sent to state lawmakers was released to the public yesterday. I swear I had nothing to do with it. I don't know why some people resort to violence against elected officials,when it is so much more enjoyable to just make fun of them. Here is one excerpt from the email...

"My group is going to do everything possible to provoke terrorist attacks on New York by al-Qaida, and by Tea Party nut cases, and by religious extremists, lone wolves and anyone else we can provoke into picking up a gun. We want to create anarchy."

I guess this blog would fall under the "lone wolf" category...

Where's the gong?

It's usually a bad idea when people famous for one thing, try their hands at another (see Michael Jordan's baseball career or Eddie Murphy singing My Girl Wants to Party all the Time). That being said, I have no sympathy for the 5,100 fans who paid $150 each to watch actor Charlie Sheen perform stand up comedy. What did they expect anyway? Most ended up walking out midway through the show.

I'm so sick of hearing about this guy. He is famous for being a TV actor. Now, he's became even more famous for being an addict. What ever happened to seeking help privately?

Sometimes the comments underneath the news articles are better than the stories themselves. One such comment underneath this story read, "I didn't even buy a ticket and I want my money back." I couldn't have said it better myself...

Keep it real

Councilmember Darius Pridgen obviously doesn't want to give the City Grille reward money to community activist Darnell Jackson. Amid threats, he has decided to pull a "Pontius Pilate" and allow the Buffalo Police brass to decide who gets the money. From WGRZ...

Reverend and Buffalo City Councilmember Darius Pridgen, who made the initial offering in the days following the incident, said he's received threatening phone calls demanding that he release the $15,000.

Pridgen held a news conference Friday afternoon to say he will leave it to the authorities to decide who will get the cash; a decision that does not sit well with community activist Darnell Jackson. Jackson helped orchestrate the eventual surrender of Riccardo McCray and says he's entitled to the money.

I think it was disingenuous of Pridgen to shirk his responsibility with the reward. Whatever you might think of Darnell Jackson, he did bring the man in. After listening to Jackson at the end of this clip, I have to say he makes more sense than Pridgen. He should have been a lawyer. He's much quicker on his feet than the journalists here. I like when he calls the Channel 2 reporter "indignant" and tells him to "keep it real". He also says, this is why you can never trust preachers or politicians. I happen to agree with him on that. In a fair compromise, I think the authorities should give the reward money to me!...
