Follow the money

I could understand if someone does not want to vote for Carl Paladino. Maybe, they don't like some of his stances or think he is too angry. Some issues are very important to people and I would never tell them to vote against their principles. However, when I hear people say (with straight faces) that they think Andrew Cuomo is sincere and the answer to New York's fiscal and economic problems, I'm tempted to laugh in their faces.

I strongly urge everyone to read the attached article from Phil Fairbanks in today's Buffalo News. It talks about where Andrew Cuomo gets his $25 million dollar war chest. A few excerpts...

-Andrew M. Cuomo is accepting money, lots of it, from the same special interests he promises to take on if elected New York's next governor. Cuomo amassed a $25.6 million campaign war chest in just two years and did it with the help of the same labor, business and political interests that have long influenced state government.

-His donors range from Albany lobbyists and New York City real estate giants to public employee unions and health care providers.

It's a group littered with the rich and famous, names such as Leonard Lauder, Howard Rubenstein, and Donald and Ivanka Trump.

"Money flows to power," said Blair Horner, legislative director of the New York Public Interest Research Group. "They assume Cuomo's going to win, so they fork over money in the hopes that when they make a phone call, someone will answer it."

So Cuomo would have you believe he's going to take $25 million dollars from corrupt special interests and then turn around and expose the same people? I hate to tell you this. But these aren't donations he's accepting. They are bribes. If you're one of his supporters, he's relying on your naivety and stupidity. Some of our old friends make up his list of whores, too...

One of the biggest givers is former Buffalo Mayor Anthony M. Masiello, a longtime Cuomo ally. At last count, Masiello had given Cuomo $38,500, one of the largest contributions by an individual lobbyist.

Masiello said his intent is not to gain access -- he and Cuomo have a relationship that dates back 30 years -- but rather to help an old friend get elected governor.

"I think he's got the right stuff," Masiello said of his fellow Democrat. "He's serious about making a difference. He knows the state's in trouble."

Cuomo's is about as serious at making a difference as Masiello was. Do you really think Tony Masiello is giving Andrew Cuomo $38,000 out of the kindness of his heart? P.T. Barnum was right. There's a sucker born every minute and New York State has a lot of them. They're called registered voters. We need a change in climate in Albany. With Andrew Cuomo, you're going to get a younger version of his old man. The guy who kept on saying Big League baseball was coming to Buffalo as he raised our taxes left and right. If you truly despise Carl Paladino, I encourage you to read the attached article in full and vote for the Green Party candidate, the Black Panther, the madam, or the guy with the black gloves.

I find it hard to believe that you have heard more than one person say this. (Unless you have spent the last few weeks in Westchester.) Anyone with the smallest amount of political knowledge should know better, expecting this from Cuomo is like expecting Carl to stop and think before he speaks.

Carl had this election by the balls and let it slip away by taking terrible campaign advice.

  2. Howie Hawkins for Governor! I still don't get why the labor unions aren't coming out and making this man a house hold name! Cuomo will put the nail in the coffin of the middle class in this state.

    Go Green!

The labor unions are all in Andrew Cuomo's pocket. Every vote Hawkins gets is one less for Cuomo.
