If you watch the following YouTube montage I compiled, you might find yourself asking for the last five minutes of your life back.It has everything:local politics, great acting, great music, and a funny face.

It all started when some of our local rift raft got together to praise themselves for using our money for the Cazenovia ice rink, Tosh Collins, and the Cazenovia Pool. They went out and got Chicago Blackhawk Patrick Kane and Buffalo Sabre Tim Kennedy to use as props to try and promote their own political careers. Brian Higgins and Tim Kennedy were both on hand (along with Mayor Steve Urkel). As everyone knows, those three are known for spending countless hours volunteering in the community. Little did they know, one of our correspondents was lurking in the bushes to provide commentary for this important event. I apologize in advance for the results that followed:

Gipson Gets Canned by Brown While in Hospital Bed

Reached at his home in Amherst, H. McCarthy Gipson says he was very upset that the mayor fired him while in the intensive care unit at a local hospital. He could report all the cover ups the mayor has been involved in (his son's hit and run, Leonard Stokes, etc.) but then he would have to admit that he was involved also. I wonder what the real story is behind this move by Brown. Looks like I'll have to go on some message boards and find out. The local cops always have the inside story. The first African American Police Commissioner in Buffalo history fired without a reason. Will Frank Messiah and friends be leading a protest on the steps of city hall? They would if Brown was white. I have a feeling this story is not over with yet.

Where is all the money that South Buffalo didn't get going? Haircuts. Mayor Brown alotted over $250,000 in grant money to four Jefferson Avenue barber shops. I wonder what Tony the barber or Bob the barber on Seneca St. think about that. What a complete waste of our taxes.

Brown Snubs South Buffalo-Again

The mayor came out with his budget for capital improvements. Despite an $18 million budget, South Buffalo is getting nothing. South District Councilmember Mickey Kearns has gone so far to take out an ad in this week's Metro Community News.

Mayor Brown's spokesman claims that the budget is decided by a Citizens Planning Council. I know from experience that these planning committees are usually stuffed with political asskissers whose jobs depend on people like Mayor Urkel, Brian Higgins, etc. Since it's our money we're talking about, I'd like to see just who sits on this committee. They need to report to this blogger immediately. I'll guarantee it has a few South Buffalo bottom feeders on it. Remember,these Commissioners from South Buffalo don't care about your neighborhood. They only care about preserving future jobs for themselves and their mongoloid kids. You're going to tell me Mayor Brown approved a recommendation that allowed South Buffalo to get nothing out of $18 million dollars? Buffalo Police have not yet released the names of any suspects in the recent thefts of women's underwear but they have released this composite sketch of a potential suspect. If you have seen this man cutting ribbons, pretending to do work for Extreme Makeover:Home Edition, or prancing around downtown, Buffalo police want you to call them at 851-4444.

Buffalo police were called to a Grove Street residence on Friday to investigate the theft of six pairs of Victoria's Secret underwear.

A 27-year-old woman reported that someone entered her apartment by unknown means between 4:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Friday and rummaged through her drawers, taking the underwear and drinking out of a vodka bottle in the apartment.

The woman told police it wasn't the first time someone had gone through her clothing. Underwear previously had been taken from the basement, but she did not report that theft to police, according to the police report.

Buffalo Continues to Squander Anti-Poverty Funds

The city of Buffalo cannot figure out how to get anti-poverty funds from the Federal government. The ineptitude of our inbred leaders is probably the main reason Buffalo holds the prestigious title of third poorest city in America.

As a result, those hardest hit our the poorest of the poor and the agencies that serve them. The public has no say in how the federal block grant dollars are spent because Mayor Brown and the rest of the city hall flunkies want to make sure this money goes to serve the needs of their political friends and families first, not the city residents that need it the most. They kept the public hearing a secret. Only two city residents attended a hearing seeking public comments on how to spend $23.8 million dollars.

Deputy Mayor Byron Brown was unavailable for comment. He deferred all comment to Mayor Steve Casey. Casey didn't understand what all the fuss was about." We're the third poorest city in America. We tried to help out our residents on primary day. We gave them groceries and free chicken wings to come out and vote for Byron and myself. I can't understand why anyone would be upset." Casey added that the rumors about Brown stealing pink underwear at knifepoint from a Niagara St. adult bookstore last week were completely untrue and without merit.

Four More Years For Downtown Byron Brown

Byron Brown was reelected mayor of Buffalo yesterday after a hard fought Democratic primary against Mickey Kearns. You have to give Brown credit. He did what he had to do and was able to get his base to turn out. To mark the occasion, his son drove him to the victory party in a car he stole earlier in the day on Main and Winspear.

South Buffalo was well represented at the victory party at D'Arcy McGee's. Neighborhood sycophant Marge Ryan was supposed to announce Brown to the crowd but she became injured earlier in the week after patting herself on the back for the 603rd time in the Metro Community News. Brown's speech was abruptly cut short after County Legislator Tim Kennedy rushed the stage and reportedly ate the microphone.

Different Stokes

Mayor Urkel hasn't been this mad since they cancelled his show Family Matters. He keeps saying "I did nothing wrong." By that does he mean knowingly persuading police to let a criminal go? This one incident should show everyone that this guy is completely devoid of character. He is no leader and I think more and more people are seeing that every day.

Mayor Urkel Helps Stokes Avoid Being Arrested

Looks like Leonard Stokes (you remember him, he was the incompetent fool given 950 million of your tax dollars to start a downtown restaurant) was caught using a handicapped parking permit. Apparently about 600 of these permits were known to have been stolen from City Hall. A former professional athlete, Stokes was too lazy to find a legitimate parking spot on his own. Instead of being arrested, he was taken to the mayor's office (Isn't that where all accused criminals are taken?) where mayor Brown purchased several tickets to the policeman's ball and no charges were filed. In a shocking development, Brown has no recollection of the event.

Sun Sets on One Sunset

These articles were in today's Buffalo News. I don't remember when it became government's job to fund new businesses. I guess it's a tough call because people will complain to politicians if there are empty storefronts or they'll complain if they try to jump start new businesses. However, money is no substitute for good business sense.
Talk to any successful small business owner and they'll tell you great stories about how hard it was to start their business and how many long hours it took them in the early days. The successful ones don't need much to start with except a good product, great customer service, and a willingness to work long hours. I look at the Wayside Restaurant as a prime example. That restaurant has flourished because they serve very good food at a reasonable prices and the husband and wife that run it(Dennis and Clare) spend countless hours doing so.
I hope it does well, but the new restaurant on Seneca St. (Francesca's) doesn't need $70,000 of our money to make it look like Salvatores. It needs good food at reasonable prices. If you build it, they will come.
Looks like in the case of One Sunset, the BERC (see useless government agency) gave tens of thousands of dollars of our money to a politically connected former basketball player with no previous business experience. Needless to say, the restaurant failed and now at least $90,000 is "unaccounted for". The woman behind the mess (Michelle Barron) was praised by city hall officials a few months ago and labeled as a scapegoat. Today, she was quietly fired by them. I wonder what Dennis and Clare from the Wayside would think about all the free money they were given.

Separated at Birth?

You hear people all the time say, "He never really does much but I guess I like him." He renames streets, cuts ribbons, and talks real slowly about nothing. Urkel did nothing in the State Senate for about 5 years. Now, he has continued that record as Mayor. There is a new scandal every week and he always says, "I didn't know this was going on." This guy is a complete joke. The city is being run by Steve Casey, one of his 12 unelected deputy mayors. Whether you liked him or not, everyone knew who was in charge when Griffin was mayor. The buck stopped with him.

The two guys we've had since then are stiffs. Watch and see which of your neighbors have signs out for Mayor Urkel. These will be the people with their hands out should he win. This guy epitomizes the phrase "empty suit." Here is a story about him blowing off meetings. I guess he was too busy doing important things like giving T.O. the key to the city.
