Polls: (see Dewey Defeats Truman)

I stumbled across this clip yesterday. For those of you who believe polls: I think this was taken a week before the Republican Primary. We all know what happened there. Listen to how foolish the anchor sounds in hindsight (now that we know Paladino defeated Lazio by a 2:1 margin).

Predicting elections is like predicting the weather. Don't you remember the day before the October Storm of 2005, when Don Paul called for overcast skies with a 20% chance of drizzle?

Paladino whips Lazio

So much for polls. They had this race being too close to call. There's only one poll that matters and that's the actual election. Paladino is not intimidated by Prince Andrew. Now, get mad as hell and buy my t-shirts and signs at www.anyonebutandrew.com.

Paladino closing the gap on Lazio

My T-shirts sold well at Carl Paladino's fundraiser at Fontana's Picnic Grove yesterday. I sold about two dozen. I'd like to thank Paladino's staff for their great help. They were very nice and helped me get set up. They were very busy but took the time to tell others about my shirts, and even bought some themselves.

Everyone keeps saying people that oppose the current government are angry people. I did not witness that yesterday. I had many conversations with small business people who just want to sell their products without being overtaxed and having the government dictate every part of their lives. Most are not the racists that the national media are trying to portray them as.

Paladino is at least talking about issues. He was the first to oppose the mosque at Ground Zero. Cuomo and Lazio waited until their handlers told them what stance they needed to take. Hopefully, Paladino will close the gap on Lazio and give a real challenge to Andrew "Status Quo-mo." Lazio has been working really hard after being handed the Republican endorsement. My venture into capitalism

For some crazy reason, I have a lot of enthusiasm for politics. Using that enthusiasm, I came up with this T-shirt regarding the governor's race. I will be selling them online along with similar lawn signs and car magnets. The shirts are the prototype and will sell for $12. Lazio fires campaign manager as a result of Paladino's momentum

Lobbyist Kevin Fullington was replaced today as Rick Lazio's campaign manager in favor of Matt Walter, another sign that Carl Paladino's campaign has captured the momentum for the Republican Gubernatorial primary. From today's Buffalo News:

In addition, Lazio has not showed any real success in fundraising, reporting only $688,000 on hand as of July 15. Paladino has vowed to spend up to $10 million of his own money.

It makes you wonder why the state's Republican leaders went with Lazio over Paladino in the 1st place. Oh yea. Probably the fact they knew they couldn't control Paladino and that he might actually look out for the interests of New York state taxpayers and not just the interests of party leaders. Lazio went on to thank Fullington for his service:

"I cannot thank Kevin Fullington enough for a successful convention and his long hours and hard work to ready this campaign for the final push," Lazio said.

Hahahahahahahaha. Nice spin, Rick. Why didn't he just say,"You've done a terrific job. That's why we have to fire you"? Does Lazio know the former Spokesperson for Iraq? Remember in the 1st Gulf War, that guy would get on TV and tell the Iraqi people to ignore all the bombs flying over their heads. It was actually an illusion.They were really defeating the Americans, militarily.

My money (ok, I don't have any money), but if I did, would be on Paladino. His message of change is starting to resonate with voters across the state. Here is some footage we obtained of Rick Lazio addressing his supporters at a recent campaign meeting:

Lazio is a dud

The state Conservative Party has decided to back Rick Lazio for Governor. No big surprise there. I got one word for Lazio. Dud. I can't say anything bad about him because he's never said or done anything of note. He ran a lackluster campaign against Carpetbagger Clinton, where he failed to generate any excitement or enthusiasm from the voters. The state leaders must have figured he'd stand up for New York City's interests more than the outspoken Carl Paladino. He and Honest Andrew Cuomo look like clones from a bad horror movie. Carl Paladino kind of looks like their crazy uncle. That's why I already know I'm voting for him should he beat Dud Lazio in the Republican primary.
