Patriots coach cuts player the night before Super Bowl

This must have been one of the moves Bill Belichick discussed with Buddy the Book at last week's secret dinner. Belichick wins our 1st annual Prick of the Year Award by cutting Wide Receiver Tiquan Underwood the night before the Super Bowl. And interestingly enough, the move was not done for any disciplinary reason. Underwood wasn't caught doing drugs in the team's hotel or anything. The coach wanted to have one more defensive lineman on the roster, in case he was needed tomorrow. From the Boston Herold...

A source said there was no disciplinary measure, and the team still wants Underwood back for next season. All of which makes the move even more harsh. He went through every bit of preparation for the game, was in the team picture, and described it as “a dream.”

More like a nightmare. Critics will write it off as a cold, callous move by Belichick. Admirers of the Hoodie will point out that the game could come down to one play, and the coach has to have his best players ready. Now you know what it means when they say the NFL is a business.
