Buffallo's history takes a back seat to greed

The city's history took a back seat to one man's greed this week, as Buffalo's most infamous residency violator allowed a few historic grain elevators to be permanently dismantled...

James Comerford, the city’s permit and inspections commissioner, had ordered the demolition at 339 Ganson St. earlier this month, claiming that the Wheeler elevator, the complex’s oldest building, and an adjacent feed mill posed a threat to public safety.

The company’s intentions fueled skepticism among Buffalo Preservation Board members about whether the buildings needed to be torn down. The board voted unanimously March 3 to oppose demolition after a request to schedule a site visit for the board and possibly an engineer was rebuffed.

I'm not going to publicly accuse "East Aurora" Jim of accepting a bribe from the company to tear down the grain elevators. However, if you see any drastic improvements on his East Aurora home this summer, well, you draw your own conclusions. Buffalo: a great place to siphon money and get all your family members public sector jobs. But I wouldn't want to live there. Very sad, residency violator!...

You hustle, you deal, you steal from us all
Come on, come on, love me for the money
Come on, come on, listen to the moneytalks
Come on, come on, love me for the money
Come on, come on, listen to the moneytalks
Moneytalks, yeah, yeah
Money talks, B.S. walks...

  1. If you are going to put yourself out there as some muckraker that exposes the ills of our system, you should at least get your facts straight and rely on more than just innuendo. Jim Comerford does not live in East Aurora. That is a fact. Accuse him of being a lot of things, but when you imply that he is dishonest you are doing him and yourself an injustice. Do our research. Check into where he really lives, investigate his lifestyle. When you have done so, then tell me he is trading on his position for personal gain.

The world is not perfect my friend, and you'll find none more cynical than I when it comes to the failures of our system. But you tend to come off as whining when you blame your own, or anyone else's inability to get ahead, on the system and your lack of resources to buy your way into it. It may work to ease your own feelings of inadequacy, but we're not buying it.

    You are highly entertaining though.

  2. Jim Comerford and Dave Comerford have relied on the political system to get ahead since the early 1980s.

I have no problem with my current role. I'm extremely confident in my ability to reach young people through sports and in an educational setting. I've coached/reffed thousands of S Bflo kids every year for the last 20 years. That is the reason why my blog reaches the number of people it does. I never sat back as an athlete and watched people less skilled than I beat me. Why would I sit back and watch the spoiled offspring of S Bflo political hacks take what I've earned? I love to compete. To be honest with you, I could care less about the families I've mentioned. You say I don't know them. They don't know me. You're the one calling me a muckraker. I don't make that claim. I just state my opinions and let others decide their validity for themselves. Based on the overwhelmingly positive comments I get in the public regarding my blog, many are "buying it". If something I've said about someone is untrue, they should use legal means to clear their name.

  3. So basically you are going to post lies and force people to get a lawyer to clear themselves? It is disgusting the lies you post about decent people. I can't wait until one of them sues you - you deserve it. To imply that Jim Comerford is taking bribes is the icing on the cake. It is obvious you don't know him or his family.

  4. you call them lies. i never said that. when he prostituted himself to Byron Brown, he used a PO Box in East Aurora on his check. several sources reported he lived there. i never said he took a bribe. those are your words.

if someone wrote a lie about me, i would sue (unless I had something to hide.) i wish he would because:

A.) my blog could use the publicity. i get a lot of traffic now but it would triple if someone sued me.

B.) the have nots in S Bflo would rush to defend me.

C.) i think free speech would prevail over the plaintiff's hurt feelings. but if it didn't, oh well.

i'm sorry if don't like the fact that i target members of the entitled class on my blog. i'm an outsider. why would i take a back seat to any of your friends? i'm not impressed with any of their intelligence or work ethic. i just want to keep competing.

  5. "The city's history took a back seat to one man's greed this week..."

So which man's greed are you referring too?

"I'm not going to publicly accuse "East Aurora" Jim of accepting a bribe from the company to tear down the grain elevators. However, if you see any drastic improvements on his East Aurora home this summer, well, you draw your own conclusions. Buffalo: a great place to siphon money and get all your family members public sector jobs. But I wouldn't want to live there. Very sad, residency violator!..."

And you are saying you didn't accuse Jim Comeford of taking a bribe?

Mark Croce just took a leap of faith so to speak on the Statler. You along with a number of other purists bashed him for buying a home in Orchard Park. Who gives a shit, the man has every right to raise his kids in a neighborhood more than a mile from where someone was shot, stabbed or mugged. Maybe he has a special needs child that OP has a great program for, maybe his mother-in law is sick and live around the corner from his new place. You don't know him, nor do I. What I do know is that he still lives in Erie County and he is wagering a good amount on this City. Have it be from the Elmwood Village or from China anyone willing to invest more than a dollar in this City aught be thanked.

I like your blog and appreciate the fact that you've created your own "soap box". However, erroneous comments and lazy statements like the above are leaving a sour taste in my mouth.
