Notre Dame parade on Monday in South Buffalo

Strange as it sounds, I am not making this up. A group of South Buffalo Notre Dame fans will be holding a parade on Monday night at 7PM, one hour before the Notre Dame-Alabama National Championship. They have even named City Comptroller Mark Schroeder as the Grand Marshall. Schroeder narrowly edged out the Reverend Darius Pridgen for this prestigious honor. The route will be on Seneca Street starting at Hopper's Rush Inn and ending at the Blackthorn Restaurant and Pub.

I'm thinking of dusting off my Alabama jersey and lining the parade route with a giant "Roll Tide" sign. Actually, I'm hoping for a Notre Dame upset. Nobody predicted the season they've had. Despite being 10 point underdogs, there is something about this team that refuses to lose. It will be interesting to see how many people show up to march, as this seems to be an impromptu word of mouth event.
