NEWPORT, N.H. -- A New Hampshire community took a hairy approach to earning a spot in the record books.The town of Newport tried to set the Guinness world record for having the most people in a mustache contest at one time.Categories during Saturday's events included "Grand Stache," "Menudo" and "Selleck."The event took place during the town's winter carnival Saturday.Organizers said they need at least 251 participants to tie meet the record, and they said more than 450 attended.
