Some notes from South District police chief Pat Pascall...
- Burglar Arrested: We arrested a guy from Yale Street that kept breaking into homes and businesses. If it were not for the great work of the district detectives in collaboration with residents, this would not have come to such a great conclusion (see crime report).
- Car Larcenies: PLEASE! PLEASE! Remind your neighbor to take "all" their belongings into the house at night. We continue to have residents victimized where it could have been prevented. It is very difficult to catch these perpetrators, as they move along with the good people, and strike quick when a target presents itself.
- Crime Statistics: According to the Erie County Crime Analysis Center, our Part 1 crimes are down 48% from the previous year. If anyone wants to see the numbers, just let me know.
- Community Police Officers: We started the CPO's on January 15th. That means that we will have CPO coverage every day (they will not be answering calls, they will be dedicated to community issues only). Their names are Dave Fay and Tony LeBron. They both have many years on the force, and are South Buffalo residents.
