I'm happy to hear that both the Erie County and Niagara County Medical Examiners have ruled police officer Patty Parete's death a homicide.

Her sad death was the direct result of the person who shot her. I feel no sympathy for that man. If it weren't her being shot in the line of duty, it could have been you or I or a friend or relative. Thugs like this do not belong on the streets with the rest of us.

Some people get online and say irresponsible things like, " I hope the shooter rots in hell..." That is immature and not for us to decide. What I do wish for is the maximum penalty under the law for the murderer. Officer Parete died defending the rest of us and this person needs to pay the consequences for his choices.
