Silver's bill an insult to all NY state students

Assembly speaker Sheldon Silver proposed a bill on Friday that would give financial aid to illegal immigrants at New York state universities. This, after SUNY recently raised tuition costs for current students and eliminated TAP funding for graduate students. The people are not this dumb and it's about time Sheldon Silver found a new occupation...

Tens of thousands of illegal immigrants would become eligible to receive government financial aid to attend college in New York under a bill that state Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver introduced Friday.

Mickey Kearns and Tim Kennedy: the residents of your district, through this blog, will be closely monitoring how you vote on this bill. Supporting this bill will not be met kindly. You can decide now, whether you represent the people of your district or the deep pocketed Manhattan elitists. The choice is yours.

Silver proposes college aid to illegal immigrants

So, when did New York State Assembly speaker Sheldon Silver start sniffing glue? When I first read about his plan to give illegal immigrants government financial aid for college tuition, I thought it had to be a misprint. In fact, I had to read it twice to make sure it wasn't...

ALBANY - Tens of thousands of illegal immigrants would become eligible to receive government financial aid to attend college in New York under a bill that Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver introduced Friday.

"My parents came here as immigrants, and I was able to have opportunities precisely because this country welcomed my family and allowed us to work hard and succeed," Silver, D-Manhattan, said Friday.

There is a huge difference between legal immigration and illegal immigration. At the same time Silver is proposing giving illegal immigrants financial aid, TAP funding for graduate students, born in this country, is being eliminated. I notice Silver didn't have much to say about that.

Taxpayers will see right through this nonsense. Clearly, Silver and the Assembly Democrats will benefit politically from the influx of illegal residents moving here. And of course, they'll be Silver supporters. Wouldn't you support a guy who just gave you thousands of dollars of other peoples' money? Unbelievable.

I have nothing against legal immigrants. We are all descendants of legal immigrants. And I'm not saying immigrants are bad people. Chicago has many Mexican immigrants and they are some of the nicest people you could hope to meet. But seriously. This bill is only going to give more illegal immigrants an incentive to come to New York.

Will Mickey "King of all Studies" Kearns and Dim Kennedy support Silver's crazy bill? Mickey campaigned as the maverick who would stand up to Albany. Well, since he had lunch with Silver a few months ago at a fancy Albany restaurant, Mickey hasn't been doing as much "standing up".  We know "11,000 Doors" Fahey would have gone along with it. We expect Kennedy to do whatever Brian Higgins tells him to do. But Kearns? Will he be holding a press conference tomorrow announcing his opposition to this plan? Highly doubtful. We will be keeping an eye on this, the 45% toll hike proposed for truckers, and the raise the state lawmakers are trying to give themselves. Voting Yes to any of these three things is another reason for New Yorkers to flee the state.

Maybe Shelly's not a bad guy after all...

Kearns supporters were probably shocked today when he left the door open to the possibility of voting for Albany criminal Sheldon Silver. Maybe their shock had something to do with Kearns repeatedly saying he would "never" vote for Silver during the campaign? From the Buffalo News...

While he again stressed he will be an independent voter on legislation, Kearns on Thursday shied away from talk about his earlier pledges not to vote for Silver as Democratic leader.

Does he still believe Silver should not be the Assembly leader?

"Well, I'm not voting on that right now," Kearns said.

Kearns said exactly what he scolded Chris Fahey for saying during their debate. When it comes to double speak, Walt Disney thinks he has a vivid imagination. Was Thursday the first time Kearns traveled to Albany, as stated in the article? Maybe. Or maybe he simply thought it would make for a nice story. You never really know with Mickey. He has absolutely no problem making things up from time to time. Like when he promises two people the same fictitious Executive Director's job and then they bump into each other. (As happened recently.)

Kearns ended the interview by stating he would do whatever it takes to fight corruption in Albany, right after he finishes folding Silver's laundry and babysitting his kids for him.

Fahey hiding from his support of cockroach Sheldon Silver

If you're reading this, you must be one of a few "crazy soccer parents' who read the blog, according to the South Buffalo political derelicts who, based on the number of comments I get from them, can't get enough of it, either. I guess it's not enough for them to simply label me as crazy. Now, if you subscribe to the blog, you must be crazy as well. So, just keep looking at the big screen, do what they say, and pay no attention to that man behind the curtain...

The topic of today's discussion is Assembly Speaker/scum of the earth, Sheldon Silver. If you're not aware of Silver, he's one of the "three men in a room" who have controlled Albany and the state of New York for the past 40 years. Another member of the three, Joseph Bruno, was convicted of eight counts of corruption in 2009, and is reportedly keeping a bunk warm for Silver. Local candidate Mickey Kearns held a press conference today in which he denounced Silver and vowed to vote against him should the voters send him to Albany...

Today he challenged his opponent — Christopher J. Fahey — to do the same.

"People want independent leaders; they don't want a puppet bought and paid for by Shelly Silver," Kearns said. "The more you get to know [Silver], the more you want to get rid of him."

Fahey did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Of course Fahey didn't return the call. He had to call Brian Higgins and ask him what lie he should say. Would you return the call, if your campaign was being funded by Silver and his New York City special interests? Not only are these interests not helpful to Western New Yorkers. They can often times be harmful (see Silver's failed support of UB's 2020 last year. In this article from the Buffalo News, Fahey supporter Mark Schroeder labels Silver an "obstructionist." I guess it's ok now that Silver is supplying his candidate with money.) http://mikeblake-myopinions.blogspot.com/2010/04/schroeder-calls-silver-obstructionist.html

This is all you really need to know about Fahey. He calls himself independent, but is anything but. His campaign is being financed by one of the most corrupt political people in the entire country! One thing's for sure: Silver needs to go. Fahey is simply a puppet, doing what he is told. In this case, it's accepting financial support from New York City criminals beholden to Sheldon Silver. I will now hold my breath and wait for Fahey to take a stand and denounce Silver. OK, I give up...

Kearns vows to vote against Silver as race heats up

PS. Take a look around the neighborhood and see who has Fahey signs on their front lawns. They are the same old, tired political degenerates found on every block in South Buffalo. Does this lad know anyone from the private sector? I don't know why candidates still put their signs on these peoples' lawns. It's almost like a death sentence. Everyone knows if these lowlifes are supporting the person, they (the candidate) must be part of the corrupt local political machine the majority of us have had enough of. Seriously, is there anyone who sees a sign on the lawn of the ethically challenged Lou Petrucci and says, "Now that's someone I'm going to vote for"? I would hope to God the majority of my neighbors aren't that stupid.

Schroeder challenges Silver to meet WNY citizens

Assemblyman Mark Schroeder has asked Speaker Sheldon Silver to come to Western New York and take part in a forum with local residents. In years past, Silver has acted like Upstate NY is not even part of the state. As far as Silver is concerned, New York state starts and ends in Manhattan. He's been a speaker for 17 years, and that's 17 years too long, if you ask me. Silver is one of Albany's infamous "three men in a room" and he completely turned his back on Buffalo during the UB 2020 debacle. At least somebody is finally standing up to his arrogant ways.

Here is a clip where Schroeder challenges Silver to come to town. He has given Silver a letter telling him he will not get his support unless he does so. Now, if we could only get cowards like Sam Hoyt on board to stand up for WNY. Oh, I forgot. He's too busy collecting money from New York City special interest groups to do so...

The Last Train to Clarksville

This was a funny story from channel 7. Assembly speaker Sheldon Silver said if Carl Paladino wins the governor's race, people should consider leaving the state. Paladino responded by buying him a one way, $75 Amtrak ticket to Washington D.C.. It is dated for November 3rd, 2010. I don't know what Silver is waiting for. He might as well leave now. Win or lose, this is a movement generated by Paladino and Silver's days in Albany are numbered either way. The people are finally beginning to smarten up on career criminals like Silver. It is much bigger than the Tea Party Movement. There are Democrats and Republicans sick of the way New York has been mismanaged by Cuomo I, Wacky Pataki, Client #9, and the current drug addict serving as governor.

Personally, I think Amtrak is too good for Silver. Paladino should have bought him a Megabus ticket and had him seated next to some smelly, overweight, obnoxious Irishman...

Schroeder might challenge Silver for Speaker

Whether symbolic or not, Mark Schroeder's challenge to Sheldon Silver is important for Western New York residents.

You want to know a clear indication of who is working for us in Albany and who isn't? Watch and see which of the area's delegation supports Sheldon Silver as the speaker of the Assembly.

Silver, widely regarded by both Albany insiders and outsiders as the biggest opponent to reform in New York State, might be challenged by South Buffalo Assemblyman Democrat Mark Schroeder. Silver is one of the "three men in a room" consistently fighting for New York City interests, at the expense of those in outpost destinations like Buffalo. He opposed UB 2020 after giving his word to the local delegation he was behind it...

Silver’s blockage of UB 2020, an ambitious expansion plan, prevented a “transformational” impact on the State University of New York system and the Western New York economy, Schroeder said.

If you live in Assemblyman Sam Hoyt's district, listen to him talk and you can tell where his interests lie:

In 2000, Hoyt was one of 12 Assembly Democrats who backed then-Majority Leader Michael J. Bragman of North Syracuse for speaker but later jumped back to Silver when the coup began to unravel.

“It’s easy to demonize one person,” Hoyt said of Silver last week. “But no one asks: If we do replace him, what happens?”

What happens? We stop getting screwed over by him left and right. Hoyt's not the type of guy you want in a fox hole with you. In fact, if his father wasn't an Assemblyman, he would probably be washing dishes at the Olympic Restaurant in Riverside. Is it a coincidence that most of Hoyt's money these days is coming from New York City interests? Most WNY residents are on to his sorry act. I'm not a big fan of Joe Golombek, but this issue would lead me in his direction if I lived in their district. Golombek states in the article that his support would be for Schroeder-and by extension Western New York residents, should he take on Silver.

Sheldon Silver- biggest crook in Albany

If you want to read a good column discussing how corrupt Sheldon Silver is, I suggest you read Douglas Turner's link underneath this post. Turner talks about how the state gets handed the responsibility of redistricting the Assembly, Senate and Congressional seats based on the census. He goes on to show how one guy (Silver) controls this whole process. Usually, Congressional incumbents start lining the pockets of Silver this time of year in exchange for him making their seats nearly unbeatable. All of this nonsense happens in a country that at one point aspired to be a Democracy. What it amounts to is the Congressman bribing Silver to get a favorable district. Don't feel sorry for the incumbents. They have partys in which individual citizens can become "bronze" donors or "gold" donors based on the amount they donate to them. These people donate out of the kindness of their hearts. Isn't that nice of them? Another clear example of bribery.

Why has Silver chosen to turn his back on the UB autonomy bill, which almost everyone agrees would create jobs? The students are for it.The problem is the union representing the faculty. They oppose it and Silver answers to them. Turner sums up this nonsense best when he says:

Silver couldn’t care less that these links thwart progress and worse, foster mediocrity. That’s why the Peoples Republic of New York, under the grip of unlimited public union power, is looking more like stagnant England before Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher threw off socialism’s yoke.

Schroeder has stood up to this evil man while guys like Sam Hoyt sit back and allow stuff like this to go on. One thing I think everyone can agree with (Democrats, Republicans, members of the Whig Party) is that Silver has overstayed his welcome and needs to go.

Schroeder calls Silver ‘obstructionist’ on UB’s 2020 program : State : The Buffalo News

I wish more people from the Western New York delegation would speak out against Sheldon Silver. Mark Schroeder recently labeled Silver an obstructionist for killing a plan to help the expansion efforts at UB. Joe Bruno is awaiting a jail cell and hopefully, his partner in crime Silver will not be too far behind. They should give those two and the governor their own cell so they can really be the "three men in a room." From the news article:

“If the speaker is not being an obstructionist, he should bring the bill to the floor for a full house vote,” Schroeder said.
In Buffalo, it is seen as benefiting the downtown health corridor. UB has said its plans will create nearly 7,000 jobs.

It is clear Silver's interests lie in Manhattan. He probably couldn't find Buffalo on a map yet he has considerable influence over the lives of all Western New Yorkers. It's time for him to go. We need to send this clown packing. Just look at the picture of this freak.

More than 40 Democrats have pledged to support the Higher Education Empowerment and Innovation Act, he said, and Republicans have told him they can provide 38 votes — enough to pass the legislation if brought to the floor.
Silver and other Democrats from New York City oppose the measure, which will largely help the upstate-based SUNY system, Schroeder said.

Western New York gets screwed over again because it's needs don't fit in with the needs of New York city politicians. Sheldon Silver should be put in Attica.
