A U.S. Border Patrol spokesman says country singer Willie Nelson was charged with marijuana possession after 6 ounces was found aboard his tour bus in Texas.
Patrol spokesman Bill Brooks says the bus pulled into the Sierra Blanca, Texas, checkpoint about 9 a.m. Friday. Brooks says an officer smelled pot when a door was opened and a search turned up marijuana.Authorities said they were alarmed when they opened the bus doors and it smelled like marijuana. They should have been alarmed if they opened the doors and it didn't smell like marijuana. There should be a clause in all marijuana laws declaring Willie Nelson exempt. The man is an American icon. He's an artist. Who really cares if he gets stoned as long as he's not the one driving the tour bus?
