Three explosions in Lancaster

A bizarre story out of Lancaster. Three large explosions took place behind a Tops Supermarket on French Road. From WKBW...

"We do have one witness that said they saw a white male between 40 and 55 years old, 6 foot, heavy set, walking away from the scene before anyone arrived. He did have a facial injury," said Lancaster Police Captain Timothy Murphy."

Odd crime in Lancaster

Talk about a bizarre story. A father leaves his two children in a car in his driveway for 30 seconds in Lancaster and a man comes out of the woods and steals it (with the two kids in the car).

The weirdest part of the story comes at the end where the reporter says the suspected car thief is a student at R.I.T., where he is studying Aerospace Engineering. My initial hunch: Drug addict...

Maybe they should have just kept the parks closed

It's nice to know Congressman Eric Massa is making good use of his newfound free time. It's always funny when they catch priests, judges, teachers and politicians deep in the parks looking for new friends. I don't know why they even arrest these guys. Most of the time, they just get off anyway. Oh. Wait a minute. What did I just say?...

Police sting at Lancaster park nets three on male sex-related charges

In response to complaints from park users, Lancaster police this week ran a sting operation aimed at men who solicit other men for sex in the rest-rooms and wooded areas of Como Lake Park.
Town police say they receive complaints each year from parkgoers who were approached for sex or who see men having sex in the woods along the park’s nature trails.
Police arrested two men and a youth on charges of forcible touching or public lewdness during the undercover operation Tuesday, Detective Capt. Timothy R. Murphy said.
The reports of public sexual behavior and sexual solicitation typically start up again in the spring and summer at Como Lake Park, Murphy said.
Lancaster isn’t alone in facing this problem. For years, Ellicott Creek Park in the Town of Tonawanda was known as a venue where men met each other for quick, anonymous sex, despite the risk of arrest.

Lancaster man arrested for DWI on lawn mower

It's always funny when this happens. A man in Lancaster, barred from driving a car due to previous DWI convictions, gets arrested again. This time for driving drunk... on his lawn mower. Joseph Simme tried to cross Walden Avenue before he was pulled over. "I'm sorry officer. I needed a drink badly and my go-cart was in the shop".

Lancaster Cop Charged With New Year's Eve Assault

Western New York residents, specifically Lancaster residents are watching this case closely. From everything people are saying about Andrew Gill, he had no business ever being a police officer. He appears to be a spoiled hothead, who got the job due to his father's position as a Lancaster Detective. I don't know about the victim in this case. He might be trouble as well, but he's not the one wearing the badge. We will be keeping our eyes on this story.
My guess is they'll make Gill resign without admitting to any major offense and then try to place him in some other law enforcement job in the future (ie. Sheriffs, Prison Guard, French Foreign Legion, etc. ) Don't believe the town officials or the DA when they say they are treating this like any other assault case. Their past track record says otherwise.

Lancaster Beer Pong Match Turns Ugly

People are really talking about this story. A rookie off duty Lancaster police officer beat up a 17 year for cutting him in line during an intense beer pong match at a New Years Eve Party. According to the victim's attorney, 23 year old Andrew Gill allegedly said, "I'm a cop. I can kick your ass and get away with it." The case is being handled by Lancaster detectives. Gill's father is a Lancaster detective! No conflict of interest there.

From reading the many comments underneath this story, it sounds like both the victim and Andrew Gill are known punks in Lancaster. Several people mention that Gill was accused of punching his girlfriend in the face at a Bills game once. They say he is known to be a spoiled hothead. He obviously was made a police officer because of the status of his father. I hope he gets fired immediately as well as charged with assault. How would you like to get pulled over by this clown if you happen to be driving down Transit Road one night?

It appears as though the whole town of Lancaster is talking about this story. The biggest joke is the Lancaster police chief saying he will conduct a fair investigation. With the cop's father being a detective in town? It was a good move by the 17 year old's lawyer to contact the News. Now, this case will be much harder to cover up. As the new voice of reason in Western NY, I am calling for the case to be transferred over to the Galleria Mall Security Unit (you know those guys with the big hats that patrol the mall).
