Local jobless rate reaches 22 year high
Tim "Hortons" Kennedy ran for reelection based on his ability to create jobs. No, it was not a joke. The only thing the roly-poly redhead forgot to tell us, was that they were all in North Carolina...
The local unemployment rate of 8.8 percent was the highest for any August in at least 22 years, according to the department, and was more than a full percentage point higher than it was a year ago as the number of workers holding jobs fell to its lowest level since at least the 1980s.
And this number does not include the people who have completely given up looking for work. Stay tuned. In two years, Kennedy is going to discover a cure for cancer, when he's not busy solving world peace and creating more jobs. If there were any justice, he would be looking for a job in January.
