NFTA sitting on prime land- This is not a repeat from 1985

 
What happens when a government agency forgets they're a government agency and thinks they are actually a big business? The NFTA is born.

These jokers have had 30 years to develop the Outer Harbor and their results are atrocious. After three decades of ineptitude, the Harbor consists of three abandoned buildings and one overpriced restaurant. The Owners of Dug's Dive should pass out fly swatters to each customer as they enter the restaurant. The pop was flat and the flies ate more of my $15 chicken sandwich than I did when I ate there.

Congressman Brian Higgins is calling on the NFTA to give up it's stranglehold hold on waterfront development and sell the land for $2 (the price they paid for it.) In response, the NFTA is scoffing at the idea, saying THEY have invested $7 million dollars in the land. I hope by "they" they mean the thousands of Western New York taxpayers who pay their exorbitant salaries and fund their quasi-government organization. To hear them talk, they're successful businessmen who take financial risks for a living. Nothing could be further from the truth. The NFTA has had thirty years to make a profit over there, and instead have proven grossly incompetent. They'r ethe last remaining barrier to real waterfront development. "They" need to exit stage left and let someone with a clue take over the land. I want my two dollars!...

Buddy the book is vacationing and making his picks from beautiful downtown Miami, Florida.  Buddy is looking forward to running into his good buddy Nick Saban.  He indicates that Saban is a bookmaker's nightmare often putting a hurt on the point spread.  This weeks plays: N. Orleans (+5.5) over the Giants, Minnesota (+3) over Chicago, Carolina (+3) over Atlanta and Monday night upset special Houston (+3.5) over my beloved New England.  This is a revenge game from the last year's AFC Championship game.  Its gonna be a dandy! 

Last week Buddy was 2-2-1.  It's one of those opinionated days... Whatever happened to Chuck Knox!!!  The best coach in Buffalo Bills history.  I think I can see through my crystal ball and the ninj is driving up Red Jacket Parkway.  Everyone into the pool ! I gotta get some Heines!  1-800-bud-wins.

Unfortunately for him (but fortunately for the rest of us), the "Russians" he was working with were actually FBI agents. If someone told me a Ridgewood Rd. resident was living a double life as a Russian spy, I would have guessed him to be the City Hall Rooster...

Few other details about Hoffman were available, although a search of his available addresses shows that he kept an address on Ridgewood Road in South Buffalo from February of 1996 through October of 2010, a period in which he was stationed in Pensacola, Fla.; Honolulu; and the Norfolk area.

Did you hear the lyrics from South Korean rapper Psy's song Dear American? Is this guy serious? Psy will be performing one of his songs at a Bills "home" game in Toronto in a few weeks. Yet another reason to boycott these sham games. If he performed his anti-American song at Rich Stadium, I might actually have a reason to buy a ticket. I don't think his lyrics are too graphic though...

World's oldest person croaks

116 year old Bessie Cooper of Georgia died yesterday. She had been the oldest living person in the world.  That title now belongs to 115 year old Dina Manfredini of Italy. Cooper was best known for attending her high school prom accompanied by Bills owner Ralph Wilson.

When reached by phone with the news, Manfredini said, "thank God that bitch is finally gone. I thought she was going to live forever. Now, it's me time!" When asked her secret to living a long life, she said, "I walk two miles every morning and smoke 8 grams of crack each night."
