In Maryland, it's like something out of George Orwell's 1984. Angry residents have been vandalizing cameras used to catch speeding motorists. So authorities have now purchased cameras to monitor the cameras...

Prince George's County cops announced they are installing new cameras designed to keep a watchful eye on the Maryland county's speed cameras, WTOP reports.
Since April, six speed cameras have been attacked by angry citizens, according to WTOP. One camera was shot at and another burned.

These speed cameras are a joke. They are nothing more than a money grab, another tax for politicians. In Washington D.C., speed cameras raked in $55 million in 2011. Empty Suit Brown and Joe Golispek wanted to install them here, but thankfully enough people protested.  How have we managed to survive all these years without them?

Voters missed out on Thursday

My advice to local political reformist Kevin Gaughan is to keep at it. Gaughan was the only statewide candidate on Thursday with any real intention of reforming the system. Because of this, the politicians (both Democrat and Republican) lined up to oppose him. Even Governor Cuomo showed up to support Sam Hoyt's handpicked successor and maintainer of the status quo, Sean Ryan.

Gaughan called for less lawmakers, eliminating pensions for lawmakers, and reducing their bloated salaries. In addition to the lawmakers, politically connected families throughout Western New York opposed him because he has worked hard to reduce the size of our local governments. Without government patronage jobs, these families are lost. They don't want to start their own business or work in the private sector. Political reform is a direct threat to their livelihood.

They may have won this battle, but not the war. People are slowly educating themselves and paying closer attention. The political types cannot hide behind the warm and fuzzy news stories from the mainstream media anymore. The Bloggers are everywhere and reform will soon follow. Good luck Kevin Gaughan and please stay active and keep doing the right thing for this community.

A Lackawanna man climbed up to the top of the bridge near the Iron Workers Hall on Wednesday to "check out the view"...

Authorities were called to the bridge on Orchard Park Road near Seneca Street around 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Anthony Jividen of Lackawanna told authorities he had climbed on top of the bridge to "check out the view," and once he got up there, became too frightened to climb down.

Police took him to ECMC for evaluation before letting him go home. Authorities did not charge the man explaining a good reason for his behavior, "He's from Lackawanna. What do you want us to do?"

In the Democratic Primary for the 60th Senate district,  Michael Amodeo also celebrated a landslide win Thursday evening with 60% of the vote in  a three-way against former politicians Alfred Coppola and Charles Swanick.

Thursday, was a terrible day for Pigeon. People have had enough of him placing his greasy hands all over WNY elections. If Pigeon is orchestrating a campaign, it might as well be the kiss of death. Hopefully, this will be the last time we see or hear Swanick's name again. He can now take all the money he took from WNY residents and go buy a whole bunch of ugly sweaters. Swanick took up space (I can't say served) in the Erie County Legislature for over 26 years. Go away forever, Chuck. Everyone knows you're a crook/weasel.

New Tim Horton's on Abbott Rd.

 
In case you didn't hear this yet, a new Tim Horton's Restaurant will be built on Abbott Rd. across from 7-Eleven (formerly Wilson Farms) two blocks from St. Thomas Aquinas Church. The empty lot used to be a dentist office. Construction is expected to begin in 2013.

Sources said the 1,871-square-foot building, located at the corner of Salem Street and Abbott Road, is under contract by Tim Hortons. The deal is expected to close later this fall or by early winter.

If Betty Jean Grant somehow pulls off a miracle, I'd like to take small credit for educating my South Buffalo neighbors on Tim Kennedy. You didn't think Keith Radford would, did you? Even if he pulls off this race, he's on borrowed time. Kennedy's a Chuck Swanick waiting to happen, minus the Bill Cosbylike sweaters. 

One thing you don't hear the mainstream media talking about: Everyone knows Betty Jean Grant did a great job of getting out her base (translation-black people). But, for the race to be this close, many Crackers must have also voted for Grant. In other words, Little Timmy has burned a lot of bridges.

If he does win, it's a pretty fair assumption to say Kennedy bought the race. Look at these figures, and keep in mind, most of this money comes from New York City interests. The people around here who voted for Kennedy should be ashamed of themselves for being so dumb...

The closeness of that race and the outcomes of other races raise questions about the significance of money, endorsements and grass-roots support in party primaries.

Grant spent about $20,000, she said, while Kennedy's campaign finance filings show he has spent more than $400,000 since January. Kennedy also had endorsements from the Erie County Democratic Committee.

 Tim Kennedy (pictured above) almost pulled a choke job of Jim Keanelike proportions, but escaped with a narrow victory over Betty Jean"the Professor" Grant. Voters can now look forward to Brian Higgins' 300 lb. blow-up doll butchering the English language, eating everything in sight, and making a fool of himself for at least one more term. 



I'm surprised at the number of people who were genuinely shocked at the close race between Tim Kennedy and Betty Jean Grant. People on Twitter were all commenting on how they thought 
Kennedy was supposed to win handily. They don't know what most people in the neighborhood know-Kennedy is TERRIBLE and should be mopping floors at WalMart.

Usually, politicians are encouraged to get on television and speak in front of large groups. My advice to Tim would be to do exactly the opposite. The last thing he wants is for people to know who he is. Trust me. Up until now, he's relied on an Irish last name and the backing of Brian Higgins to win elections. However, the more people see and hear him, the more they say, "That buffoon is our state senator?" My advice to Kennedy would be to pull a "Bill Stachowski" and hide out for the next two years. In fact, whatever he does, he shouldn't attempt to speak in public. In fact, if I were him, I would try to convince people I was the former Buffalo Sabre of the same name. At least that guy can put two sentences together. Anything beats the truth in this case. The more people realize how incompetent Kennedy is, the sooner this neverending practical joke will come to its merciful conclusion.
