Let it Be
If you haven't seen this yet, it's pretty funny. Someone got several 80's and 90's icons together to lip sync the Beatles classic Let it Be. You won't believe how some of these people look today. Norm from Cheers, Ricky Schroeder, Theo Huxtable, Tonya Harding, Ivan Drago from Rocky IV, George Costanza, and Ricki Lake to name a few. That sound you hear might be John Lennon rolling over in his grave...
Ok. If I played that, I have to play the real thing. Let it Be was the last single released by The Beatles before Paul McCartney announced his departure from the band. Many people do not know that John Lennon's and Paul McCartney's mothers both died when they were teenagers. Of this song, Paul said his mother—who died of cancer when he was fourteen—was the inspiration for the "Mother Mary" lyric. She had appeared in one of his dreams to tell him everything would be ok and to just "Let it be." He later said, "It was great to visit with her again. I felt very blessed to have that dream. So that got me writing 'Let It Be'. And now you know the rest of the story...
