New York Times blasts Paladino-snobs everywhere rejoice
I guess Carl Paladino's campaign for governor is over. The New York Times, the most out of touch newspaper in the country, endorsed Rick Lazio today. They even went so far as to blast Paladino's campaign:
The New York Times editorial board is endorsing Paladino's GOP challenger, Rick Lazio, for the state Republican primary. In an editorial printed Saturday, the paper calls Paladino's campaign a "national embarrassment.
This is actually the best thing that could have happened to Paladino. The New York Times might appeal to people living in luxury Manhattan apartments. But I doubt people living in Buffalo, Rochester, Binghamton, or Syracuse really care about what they have to say. If Paladino is a "national embarrassment", what would the Times call the legacy left by Mario Cuomo, George Pataki, Eliott Spitzer, and David Paterson? Paladino's campaign isn't forcing scores of New Yorkers to move out of state. It was the policies and high taxes of these clowns that caused this.
Paladino's campaign was quick in "thanking" the Times for not endorsing him:
"The New York Times has long been an embarassment to New York State," Michael Caputo tells WBEN. "They've always represented the furthest-left view on their editorial page. These are the same folks who were ridiculing George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan on a regular basis."
"[The newspaper has] an investment in making sure that many New Yorkers remain on the welfare rolls," Caputo says. "They have long been supporters of Sheldon Silver and the antics that are going on in Albany."
When Paladino was trailing in the polls, the New York City elitists wouldn't even mention him. Now, the gap has narrowed and they are worried. What would happen if somebody actually came to Albany with the interests of Upstate voters in mind? We'll find out soon, much to the chagrine of the Manhattan hoytie toyties.

The New York Times was on point in blasting Paladino. But then again, maybe I'm just a snob.
