Like helpless orphans, South Buffalo continues to lead the region in government reliance. NAACP leader Frank Messiah described why in yesterday's Buffalo News...
"South Buffalo has a long legacy of involvement in city government," Mesiah added. "I would imagine [Brown] gets a lot of support from South Buffalo. You take care of the people who affect you."
Not true. Half the people hired, stem from family members' donations from West Seneca, Hamburg, and Orchard Park. Brown was widely defeated in South Buffalo, despite support from career hacks such as Jim Comerford (E. Aurora), Paul Sullivan, John Scanlon, and other self-preservers. Everyone knows the South Buffalo families getting jobs with the city have made the "South Buffalo phone call", where they forfeit their integrity and prostitute themselves to the likes of Brown. Then, they travel to Stankey's and talk about how they don't like black people. Yet, they turn around and say, "Byron's been good to the (insert hack family here.") To those who score well on the tests, I give credit. However, some are calling their representatives, begging for jobs on the way home from the test. You know, if they weren't out doing shots at 3AM the night before the test, maybe they would have done better.
Perhaps the saddest part of this whole article is how poor the private sector industry has become in these parts...
The South Buffalo pipeline continues. As was true in 2005, the community with the most people on the city payroll in 2011 was South Buffalo. More than 18 percent of those on the 2011 payroll hired between 2006 and 2011 - representing almost 21 percent of city payroll spending - come from the South Buffalo ZIP code of 14220.
People on the North side are above working for the city. People on the East and West sides are too busy shooting each other to study for these tests. It would be nice to see more doctors, or lawyers, or bloggers come out of South Buffalo. I'm not expecting it any time soon.
Here's one daycare center you don't want to send your kids to. In this disturbing video, a 9 year old is seen punching and kicking innocent toddlers. But don't worry, in the same clip, his aunt says he's a "normal kid." No word yet on the whereabouts of his parents.
Then, one of the toddler's fathers shows up and punches the wrong kid. He hit a six year old and was arrested. The deep South is still living in the 1800's...
I was going through the $5 CD bin at Walmart the other night when I happened to stumble across Emmanual Lewis' corpse.
Actually, how is it he's still alive? He was 25 when this photo was taken. Everyone said he wouldn't make it to 30. He's actually 41 now.
Remember, when Mr. T. confronted him about this incident? He said something like, "You're a grown man! What are you doing letting Michael Jackson carry you around like a little baby?" Probably the only sensible thing Clubber Lang ever said.
If you had a rough weekend, maybe this will cheer you up. It's an orangutan in Indonesia who can't stop smoking. People at the zoo throw their half lit cigarettes near his enclosure and he mimics the humans he sees and casually smokes. In this clip, he is even seen lighting a cigarette with another one.
Zookeepers are doing everything they can to end the practice. Not sure if they've tried the patch yet?
Young people and businesses are leaving New York in droves. Taxes and unemployment are at all time highs. New York's government is widely considered to be one of the least effective in the country. These facts are not deterring the state's ineffective lawmakers from voting themselves a raise. Of course, these cowards are waiting until right after the November elections to commit this crime- and that's literally what it is.
These criminals make (I can't say earn) a base salary of $79,000/yr for their PART TIME jobs. They also steal more from us through their committee roles.
A poll released yesterday in the following story found that 86% of New Yorkers oppose these raises. South Buffalo's Mickey Kearns and Dim Kennedy, two self-proclaimed reformers, have been strangely silent on this issue. Please help spread the word about what they(and I include Kearns and Dim) are trying to pull. If you see these two out in public patting themselves on the back somewhere, please remind them that their neighbors are staunchly against these raises. We are all waiting for Kearns to call one of the local news stations and speak out against the proposed raise. That is the type of stuff he did when he was running. Oh, wait. He's not running anymore. Sad...
State Senator Dim Kennedy said he was running for NY State Senate to "change Albany", but all we've gotten from him is the usual theft and corruption which we've come to expect from the "Ed Mahoney" democrats.
Kennedy's latest mailing (he calls it a survey) is in fact a glorified campaign flier. He spent $18,000.00 in taxpayer money to send this garbage out. This would be a total waste of our hard earned money in good times. It's hard to believe Kennedy wouldn't think residents would be bothered by something like this. It makes one think Dim needs to spend some time in the private sector and realize how hard his neighbors work every day.
In this story, Channel 2's Scott Brown confronts him about this complete waste of our hard earned tax dollars. Kennedy brings absolutely nothing to the table. He's a Brian Higgins ass kisser with an IQ of about 47. I will be voting for Betty Jean Grant in September. Kennedy has never worked in the private sector. He started sucking up to Higgins straight out of high school. He will do whatever he can in the short term to benefit himself. He should be making $7/hr at Burger King, but instead is actually representing our area in Albany. Total joke. Fortunately, the word is spreading around WNY regarding his sheer incompetence. The media is starting to realize how ridiculous he really is. Add corruption to the mix, and it won't be long before Dim's looking for private sector employment.
After 35 years of inactivity, the NFTA has decided to look into the idea off putting sand in over at Welfare Beach. Hey guys! What took you so long?
Ironically, I'm told before the NFTA placed rocks on the water's edge, the natural landscape was sand! So God put sand there. Government replaced the sand with rocks (in an effort to deter swimming). And now government plans to conduct a study to see if if nature will support sand. Hysterical.
Another study. Just what our area needs. Can taxpayers commission a study to find out if our area would be better served without the NFTA hindering growth on the waterfront for decades to come? By the way, when did Mickey "King of all Studies" Kearns become the new Executive Director at the NFTA?...
Don't be fooled by Dim Kennedy's latest scam. The neanderthal looking state senator has sent out a "survey" to local residents. Don't be fooled. All it is is a taxpayer funded advertisement for the full blown dufus. Remember when Dim said he was going to "change Albany?" This literature was paid for by the taxpayers at a cost of $18,000! So much for reform. And to return the survey, taxpayers also have to buy a stamp and place it on them. What Dim should really send out is a picture of himself licking Brian Higgins' suspenders....
Anyway, I'd send back the survey, but Dim (and anyone dumb enough to support him) isn't worth the price of a stamp. Remember union members: Kennedy sold you out last year and left an intern to deal with you. He's terrible. Here's your survey back, ass-clown!...
