Antoine M. Thompson is contacting old supporters in a new solicitation for campaign cash, prompting speculation that the former state senator from Buffalo may be running for city comptroller.
"A number of people have asked me, because I have high name recognition," Thompson said.
Sometimes high name recognition is not a good thing. Like, when your name is associated with widespread fraud and corruption, for example. Maybe he should run. His job would be to keep an eye on scammers. Who knows more about scamming than Antoine Thompson? This man could write a book on the subject. In fact, he has. It will be mailed shortly to all his former constituents soon with glossy photos (at taxpayer expense, of course).
